A recent episode of my Podcast

Aditya Shroff

Episode 14 – Aditya Shroff (Author of the book “The Best Life Ever”) – Taking the road less travelled, being a writer and living the best life ever! – In this episode, I’m talking to Aditya Shroff popularly known through his blog as “The 5AM Guy” who is also an author of the book “The Best Life Ever”. He is also a competitive runner and frequently gets podium positions in various running races. He leads quite a simple but interesting life at a farm in a village of Gujarat. After doing his engineering from Mumbai, he got a high paying job in Germany but eventually dropped that job and came back to India to work on his passion which is writing.

In this conversation, we cover a wide variety of topics – how he took the brave decision to drop the job and work on his passion and live on a farm, his creative process while writing the book. How he got the book published and even got a forward from a celebrity whom he didn’t directly know. How someone, who has a passion can convert it into a profession. All of this and much much more is in the episode.

An article I’ve been pondering on —

How to Tell If You’re Talking to a Bot – A good article explaining how to tell if you are talking to a bot. MIT Technology Review writer shares – The five best ways to detect fake social media accounts. An informative Read.

Music I loved –

Hans Zimmer – Day One (Interstellar Soundtrack) – I heard this soundtrack in 2015 i think while I saw the movie Interstellar. It entirely changed the mood of the film and made it so much immersive. It reminds me that how important the audio factor is for a film. Hans Zimmer totally nailed it with this move.

Check it out.

Quote I’m pondering on lately –

The only way to learn it is to do it.

An article I’m pondering on –

Four Types of Stress and How to Recognize Them – We can’t take away the stress from our lives. So it’s better to learn about it and make the most out of that knowledge. So I recently learned there is more than one type of stress. One is Distress and another is Eustress (got to learn about it from The Four hour work week book). But there is a total of 4 types. The above article talks about the definition of all four.

An interesting story I found on YouTube —

How This Cyclist Hit 184MPH and set the World Record — Denise Mueller-Korenek shattered the previous land-speed record for the fastest human on a bicycle on earth by hitting 184 Miles per hour. Don’t say, Oh C’mon this can’t be done. Look at the process of how this kind of record-setting works it’s fascinating and what she’s done requires daredevil will.

A song I’m listening to while writing —

Time by Hans Zimmer – This is one of my favourite Hans Zimmer songs. This song makes you feel incredibly alive but also terrified at the same time, like you are living in the moment but the time is passing by.

Quote I’m pondering on lately –
