#14 – Story time – On my toes in the back of an uber!

Today’s episode is a new section called Story Time where I tell a story I lived through or heard.

Today’s story is about of a late night Uber ride I took recently.

While coming back from Nashik, we took a detour through the mountain valley accidently.
.
There were mountain capes all around the road. But the most amazing thing which happened was the river we found flowing through these mountains and almost 400 meters away from the road we were on.
.
It was a scene almost out of a filmic landscape. Mountains in the backdrop and the river and the riverbank in the front.
.
Riverbank was soft. But we could stand over it.
.
Right before the road there were these flowers grown from near the rock. Almost like dandelions but they weren’t.
.
Then we were back to the car and off we started back to our path.

Detour!

Sitting in a rooftop restaurant I was having a cup of masala tea. There was quite an interesting scene going on. In the sea side club house nearby (for super rich), there was an indian wedding reception arranged.
.
Right in front of it was the sea full of yachtes.
.
Almost a dreamy wedding reception it would have been.
.
I could just imagine.

Wedding by the sea!

13 Reasons Why – I binged on this series in past few weeks and finished whole 2 seasons in 3-4 sittings. From the outlook, it may look like a high school drama, but trust me its not. It’s much deeper than that. It’s story of a high school sophmore Hannah Baker who commits suicide and leaves behind 13 reasons why she did what she did. It distrubed me in many ways, it shook me in many ways. It forced me to re-think my whole high school life. If you are weak hearted, it may not be appropriate for you. But if you are not, this is a must watch.

This Is Why The GenerationZ Is Smarter Than The Millennials

Photo by Annie Spratt on Unsplash

Who is GenerationZ?

GenerationZ consists of those born in 1995 or later. As per a 2017 media research report, the GenerationZ is 26% of the total audience overall and the Millennials are now trailing behind at 22% of the total audience.

Just so it’s clear:
A “Millennial” is a person reaching young adulthood around the year 2000.
Generation Z also known as Post-Millennials is the demographic cohort following the Millennials.

Here is a graph from that report –

A few weeks back when I went for one of my long morning walks, I was passing by a bunch of kids in the joggers’ park. Kids who were in the age spectrum of 7-9 year old. One of those kids were having a cell phone, which looked like a good 10000 bucks phone to me, was talking to someone. I didn’t mean eavesdropping. But I could hear that small boy asking her girlfriend, “Hey baby, where are you? I’ve been waiting for you for half an hour, are you coming or should I go with my boys for a ride.”

My reaction to this was, “WTF” in my mind. I was standing there for a while before I could continue my walk.

Tug of war! Fishermen vs Sea . I saw couple of guys pulling a rope through the sea. I couldn't understand first what they were trying to do. But as couple of minutes went by. I saw more and more locals joining those guys as their quest of winning against the pull of the sea became more intense. . It just seemed absurd if men can win in a tug of war against the sea. But these brave fishermen didn't let go. . Sea was pulling them in hard and they were all pulling back against it. . Most of the time sea was dominating. . But little did the sea know that these men are slowly making the rope slip through its hands. After almost an hour of struggle the men won. . Prize – a net filled with fish. . Sea let them win this time. May because they didn't let go. . . #sea #men #story #tugofwar
