My most popular Instagram post recentlyMy #rrunn goodie bag is here.

I got my Unived rrunn goodie bag last week after winning their SCMM 2017 selfie contest. Check out my winning selfie at the end of this post.

Article I’m enjoying (and pondering) — If You Want A Fulfilling Life, You Need Impulse Control

I love reading on Medium and Jon Westenberg is one of my favourite writers on this platform. Because he churns out great articles on a regular basis. His writing style is a little goofy at times but mostly straight in the face. You will dig this one. Go check it out.

What I’m reading/watching/listening to —YouTube – CHEAP LIGHTING SETUP on a Budget! – DIY

If you are a YouTuber or a Video/Film Maker, this video will make a lot of sense to you. Peter McKinnon, does provide his insights on the home lightening setup for a shoot in a really quirky way.

A Quote I’m pondering on lately –

“A man’s best treasure is a thrifty tongue.”

– Poet Hesiod

Until Next Saturday!

Thanks for reading.

So here is my Selfie which won the ‘SCMM 2017 selfie contest by Unived‘.

Quick endnote – as a few of you guys have told me that emails are not delivering in the Gmail primary inbox and going to promotions tab in your Gmail. I suggest below two pro tips to get my email in your Primary inbox from next time.

  • Add my From email address (himanshu@himanshusachdeva.com) to your Google Contacts list.
Emails from your Google Contacts always go to their Primary inbox. So go ahead and add me to your contact list.
  • Move your emails to the Primary tab.
You can teach Gmail where to deliver your messages. When you move one of my emails from Promotions tab to the Primary tab, Gmail asks whether it should always deliver my emails in your primary inbox. So please do that. You can also read more about these Gmail Help instructions.

Post of the week – Vlog (video log) no. 2. “SCMM – 2017 | Expo Vlog

Marathon Expo’s are always fun. I enjoyed this small expedition to Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2017 – Mirchi Expo. Hope you enjoy it too!

My most popular Instagram post recentlyFinally, a Selfie on the Sea Link. Well! I couldn’t get it last year. This year I did and it also won me a winning spot in a contest by Unived. Check it out here.

Article I’m enjoying (and pondering)Evernote 8.0: Organization Made Simple.

I love Evernote. It literally is the workspace of my life, though I was not very happy with their iOS apps. Finally, they have listened and Evernote 8 is here. It’s a completely redone app from the ground up. Notes take the centre stage now, which I always wanted. There are a lot of improvements. This article is a brief summary of the design changes and the functionality.

What I’m reading/watching/listening toThe Fundamentals of Caring.

I watched this movie a few days back, it wasn’t something extraordinary, but it was special. This movie will cheer you up in any scenario. Great performance by Craig Roberts.

A Quote I’m pondering on lately –

“For centuries, people have focused on the individual drivers of success: passion, hard work and sheer will. But things have changed. Success is increasingly dependent on how we interact with others and how much we give them.”

— Meiko Patton

Until Next Saturday!

SCMM 2017 Race day vlog and report coming up next. I finished my second Full Marathon this year. Here is a picture of myself on the finish line.

Post of the week – My first vlog (video log) of the year 2017. I call it – “Craving of the yellow diary

This video depicts my small expedition to South Bombay to see my friend Stuart and his Band’s live performance at The Experimental Theatre in NCPA. Hope you enjoy it, like I did while creating it.

My most popular Instagram post recentlyVienna Store. Well! We should not judge a book by its cover, but in this case, I should be forgiven for not instantly connecting elephants with eggs!

Article I’m enjoying (and pondering)One Man’s Quest to Change the Way We Die. This guy! You’ve got to give it to him.

Spoiler alert – You may cry in between this story, it’s overwhelming in some part. When you feel how it is to lose three limbs and how it affects your whole present and the future life.

What I’m reading/watching/listening to — I follow the seeker stories page on YouTube and I found this interesting video – Why India’s Youth Are Dating In Secret. Interesting start-up idea.

A Quote I’m pondering on lately –

“Others inspire us, information feeds us, practice improves our performance, but we need quiet time to figure things out.”

— Ester Schaler Buchholz

Until Next Saturday!

This is mid of January already and SCMM (Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon) – 2017 is here. I’m running in SCMM from past 3 years. First was HM (Half Marathon) and last year I did my first FM (Full Marathon). This year I’m doing an FM again.

All set for tomorrow. Here is a picture of the prep.

Post of the week –  New year resolutions – 2017 – 2016 was a great year and 2017’s gonna be better. If only we keep putting the hard work and consciousness into our actions. Check out my this year’s New year resolution list, consisting of a report on last year’s New year resolutions. Hope it is of some inspiration to you as well.

My most popular Instagram post recently — Quintessence of life – I captured this photograph while walking in the streets of Bandra. This photo amazes me, how karma is isolated from religion.

Article I’m enjoying (and pondering) — The Associated Press style guide will no longer capitalize ‘internet’ – I was surprised to learn that ‘Internet’ can no longer be written that way legitimately. It is now ‘internet’ without the capital ‘I’.

What I’m reading/watching/listening toNarcos – I’m binge watching this Netflix series on the biggest drug lord, Pablo Escobar. I was disgusted by learning what power and money, when comes unearned, do to you. So I went on to learn more about his life and how he became what is history now and how he was killed by the Search Bloc.

A Quote I’m pondering on lately –

“The good in life does not depend on life’s length, but upon the use we make of it. It is possible, or rather usual, for a man who has lived long, lived too little.”

– Seneca the Younger

Until Next Saturday!

Thanks for reading.

Something exciting coming up in next post. A story of a recent expedition. Here is a photograph from that day, to get you more excited.

New year resolutions – 2017

Last year I first published a list of my top 10 new year resolutions for the year of 2016. So I’m continuing the tradition, cause it helped me move in the right direction in the last year throughout. I would go back each month to this resolution list and see my progress. It was a fun and productive process.

It’s the new year day today. New hopes, New resolutions and a report of last year’s resolutions. Here you go.
